What we know about you, and why.

The short version: your name and address so a parcel can reach you, your email so we can tell you where it is, and nothing else. We have never sold a customer list and we are not going to start.

Who is responsible for this

Modern Era Brands LLC, trading as Nuzz, of Castle Rock, Colorado. We are the controller of the personal information described here. If you want to reach a person about any of it, write to hello@nuzzpet.com and a person will answer.

Our postal address is [ postal address not filled in yet ].

What we collect, and when

  • When you buy something. Your name, email address, shipping address and phone number. Stripe collects these on their checkout page and passes them to us so we can ship the order and write to you about it.
  • Your order history. What you bought, what it cost, when it shipped, the tracking number, and anything you told us about a problem with it.
  • When you join the journal. Your email address, and nothing else.
  • What any web server sees. Your IP address, the page you asked for, and what browser asked for it. Cloudflare keeps these for a short period as part of serving and protecting the site.

What we never have

Your card number. Payment happens on Stripe’s own checkout page, not ours. The card details are typed into Stripe, held by Stripe, and never pass through our servers or our hands. What comes back to us is the last four digits, the brand of card, and whether it worked.

Cookies and trackers

Right now this site sets no cookies at all and runs no analytics or advertising trackers. The only thing stored in your browser is your basket, which sits in your own browser’s local storage, never leaves it, and is readable by nobody but you.

When we add an advertising pixel, this page will say which one and from what date, before it goes live.

We expect to add one when we start advertising, because that is how advertising is measured. We are telling you in advance rather than quietly changing a paragraph later.

Who else sees your information

Four companies, each for one job, each getting the least we can give them.

  • Stripe takes the payment. They receive your card details, your email and your billing address. Their privacy policy governs what they do with it.
  • CJ Dropshipping packs and ships the parcel. They receive your name, shipping address and phone number, because a courier needs those. They do not receive your email or your card details.
  • Resend sends our email. They receive your email address and the contents of the message we are sending you.
  • Cloudflare hosts the site and the database. Your order record lives on their infrastructure in the United States.

That is the complete list. We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for cross context behavioural advertising, and we have never given it to a data broker.

How long we keep it

Order records for seven years, because tax law requires it. Your email on the journal list until you unsubscribe, which is one click at the foot of every message. Anything else, until you ask us to delete it.

Your rights

If you live in Colorado, the Colorado Privacy Act gives you the right to know what we hold, to correct it, to delete it, to get a copy of it, and to opt out of targeted advertising and of any sale of your data. If you live in California, the CCPA gives you much the same. We extend all of it to everybody who writes to us, wherever you live, because sorting people by state would be more work than just honouring the request.

Write to hello@nuzzpet.com and say what you want. We will answer within 45 days and usually within two. We will not make you create an account, fill in a form, or explain yourself.

Children

This is a shop for pet supplies and it is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you think we have, write to us and we will delete it.

When this page changes

The date at the top changes with it, and a note in the journal says what changed and why. We will not quietly rewrite this and hope nobody noticed.
